Make an end to the 16 month supply rule for newly qualified teachers
Most teachers including myself are aware of the current shortage of teaching jobs in the UK, which is also affecting the supply industry.
In 2010 I successfully qualified as a teacher and not been able to secure a teaching job and my 16 month rule now ends at the end of the 2012 term.
What will happen next?
Have I got myself in a £30.000 student loan debt for nothing?
Have I wasted my time and money will I now have to seek retail employment?
Starting from 2012 will taxpayers really need to pay £20.000 per year to train new teachers?!
Whilst studying the PGCE my teaching was assessed and having gained QTS it clearly states that I am capable to do the job, do we really need he 16 month supply rule?
I am looking for 100.000 signatures, so the government can review this important issue and stop this ridiculous 16 month supply rule.
