People who are claiming benefits but are fit to work should be made to work within their local community
People who are fit to work should be made to spend the time they could be working doing something useful to the community before they are paid their benefits.. Activities such as picking up litter, cleaning up vandalism, running errands for sick & elderly etc… anything that the government can’t currently afford to fund.
This would encourage them to get in the right frame of mind for working and give them some valuable experience . It might also encourage them to find a permanent job they would prefer to do rather than the tasks they are ‘made’ to do. Also it provides a valuable service to the community.
