Rescind age-verification for accessing pornography - Digital Economy Act 2017
The government has decided to go ahead with age-verification system and will implement by April 2018. By using your credit card details, you will be allowed access to adult content. Little does the MPs know, this will open floods of cyber crimes such as frauds, identity theft, blackmail, etc.
This is an opportunity for criminals to target users' sensitive information and their bank details. This can happen by redirecting users to a fake verification processing website, thus prompting users to enter their personal details. This method has been used in different scenarios and will be used again via this process. The majority of British public will agree that this system is flawed and anyone with a common sense will tell you this is a responsibility of a parent, not the government.
