Paying if you are hospitalised for alcohol consumption
Many people are hospitalised due to their consumption of alcohol, whether it is an accident that is caused due to being drunk or alcohol poisoning.
I propose that people should have to pay for the labour, equipment and time it takes to sort these people out, as at the moment people are able to get as drunk as they want with the knowledge they will be taken, for free, to a hospital for the night. These people waste time and money: drinking alcohol is a choice but getting ill is not.
Hospitals could also charge extra and would receive profit to go towards buying equipment, hiring more staff or building new research facilities.
