Petition Action

The British Government to consider alternative forms of governance in the UK.

Petition Details

It is clear that more harm has been done to the integrity of this countries democracy in the last two years than has been achieved in a generation by failing to act on the democratic will of its people. Poor choices have led us to an inpass that occurred with the rejection of the EU withdrawal deal.

Additional Information

We nominate MP’s to represent us and our views in an election.

Again we have seen failure to represent us as it appears democracy goes no further than Westminster. We the people were given a very clear choice to either stay in or leave the EU. The result does not matter but the effect on democracy does.

Between The PM’s deal and attempts to frustrate the process it is clear the will of the people is not being factored in. The fact the vote is not seen through is a final sign of abject failure in our parliament and we the people ask that new ways of governance are debated on put to the vote and implemented.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what 'alternative form of governance' you'd like to see introduced.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
