Knighthood for Christopher Tolkien
Christopher Tolkien, born in 1924 is the youngest son of J. R. R. Tolkien, author of 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit'. Christopher Tolkien has dedicated his life, since 1973, to editing, critiquing and publishing his father's work.
Christopher Tolkien published his father's 'The Silmarillion' in 1977 and published his final work, 'The Fall of Gondolin' in 2018. Now at the age of 94 it is time that C. Tolkien's contribution to literature be recognised with a knighthood. C. Tolkien has not only published his father's work on what he called his "legendarium", but also his academic work such as his prose translation of 'Beowulf', his epic poem 'The Fall of Arthur', his talk on invented languages 'A Secret Vice' and more.
