Petition Action

If Parliament undermines Article 50, I'd fund a legal challenge or prosecution.

Petition Details

We're advised that Parliament has no veto on Article 50, and there is no time in the calendar to seek amendment; so if Parliament delay, extend, or repeal Article 50, it would be illegal. I'd donate to fund a legal challenge or prosecution, to take the UK Government to Court in such circumstances.

Additional Information

Legal Advice from Westminster has reported that Parliament has no Veto over Article 50, it would require a change in the Law; there is insufficient Parliamentary time in the calendar to do anything about it.

A signature on this ePetition is not a commitment to pay anything, it declares an intent that the signatory would be very favourably disposed towards making such a donation to fund a legal challenge or prosecution, if Article 50 is illegally or unconstitutionally interfered with by anyone.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
