Petition Action

Get the Government to take harsher action on increasing violent crime in London.

Petition Details

In London, violent crime has been worsening to the point that people don't even feel safe to leave their homes anymore. Amongst young people violent crime is a growing issue as knives, guns and drugs are easily obtainable. I believe the government is overlooking this issue and needs to tackle it.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Mayor of London is responsible for the Metropolitan Police.

You can find out how to petition the Greater London Assembly, which looks at the work of the Mayor, here:

www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions

You could start a new petition calling on the UK Government to provide more funding to the Metropolitan Police if that is something you would like to see happen.
