Angling is considered to be a "active" sport and has recieved 620 thousand pounds to national governing bodies.

Snooker offers value for money when it comes to tax payers hard earned money

Additional Information

I have been tournament organiser for the Scottish County Championships for five years.

I have been involved with local and national level for over twenty years. I have saw at first hand how venues are closing at a alarming rate and participation numbers have dropped significantly since the boom years of the 80s.. It was once classed as the working mans sport.

In todays world of austerity, snooker gets kids off the streets. Gives the youth of today boundaries, rules and regulations to follow.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you are concerned about funding for snooker, but it's not clear what you would like the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to ask for a specific action.

You could start a new petition setting out clearly the action you would like to see.
