Make assured tenancies equal as secured tenancies in regards to domestic abuse

Petition Details

Victims of domestic abuse can get secured tenancies transferred to them in their sole if they wish to remain in the property yet they cannot do this with assured tenancies with housing associations. This needs to change to make things fair.

Additional Information

Even when people have been the victims of emotional, mental and financial abuse, housing associations are not prepared to transfer their tenancy without consent from the other joint tenant. This is unfair.
