Petition Action

Change the legal definition of Rape.

Petition Details

The current legal definition of Rape assumes it is only possible for men to rape. Which is ludicrous and dated. Anyone can be raped by anyone. Change the definition to include the female equivalent. Please read below.

Additional Information

The current definition of rape:

(1) A person (A) commits an offence if—
(a) he intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis

Suggested change as follows:

(1) A person (A) commits an offence if—
(a) he intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis or any other object or body part; or she intentionally penetrates herself with a person's (B) penis or any other object or body part of another person (B)
