This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because it's the responsibility of schools to determine when an absence is authorised, for example due to illness, and not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition calling for the UK Government to set guidelines requiring schools to take mental health into account when deciding how they handle absence if that's something you'd like to see happen.

You'll need to give your full name to start a petition.
