Let girls do Basketball as a subject.
Some schools in England don’t allow girls to do basketball. Girls should do this sport as a lesson because as much as boys are good at it so are we.
Girls should do Basketball as a lesson because it’s pretty sexist how boys get to do it. And even for boys, they might want to do hockey or even gymnastics. Sport shouldn’t be separated between genders. The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because this would the responsibility of the school and not the UK Government or Parliament.
The UK Government does set a list of sports that can be taught at GCSE. However, it leaves it up to schools to decide which genders can play which sports so long as they are "comparable".
You could start a new petition for the Government to require all schools to offer the same sports to boys and girls if that is something you would like to see happen.
