'I just didn't see them' in an accident/death/injury - NOT ENOUGH
'The statistics are shocking – one child is hurt on UK roads every 16 minutes; that’s 75 killed or injured each week.
Of those, 60 per cent were on foot: in other words, children walking to and from school, the park or friends’ houses, and simply crossing the street.' - news report
By using compulsory car lighting ALL THE TIME we would substantially deaths and serious injuries in all groups in society, particularly the more vulnerable ones, the young and old.
With motorbikes the lights can be irritating but they do the job WE CAN SEE THEM!
How many accident reports from people state 'I JUST DID NOT SEE THEM'
Imagine it was your child coming home after school or mother walking from the bus stop after Bingo in the Town Hall.......would the excuse of 'I JUST DID NOT SEE THEM' be enough? If all cars had their headlights on all the time we may all may have a fighting chance of seeing them in time.
