Change DWP unfair advantage over claimant.
Mandatory Reconsideration process, & Tribunal appeal process in particular giving unfair advantage to department over claimant.
Specifically: decisions by DWP can take 2 weeks to arrive ; (leaves claimant 2 weeks to respond) no record of when decision actually arrives at the claimants address.
DWP does not confirm receipt of Mandatory Reconsideration request at post handling site (lack of capacity to know if claim was filed even when sent using recorded post)
DWP does not acknowledge receipts of complaints; enabling them to ignore written complaints.
DWP has no deadline to respond by to Mandatory Reconsideration(claimant has 1 month)
DWP has no deadline to respond by to Appeal(claimant has 1 month)

We understand you are concerned about the time taken to process mandatory reconsideration requests but we are not sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
