Change child maintenance system. It should help the participating parent.
Child maintenance lacks in communicating with the parents who are struggling being a single parent. They do not communicate effectively when something on their case has changed or when no payments are being received.
Also, when the other parent goes on benefits they should still be made to pay any payments missed. A single parent can not financially support a child by themselves and the other non participating parent should contribute whether working or on benefits.
