Make first aid and sign language a compulsory lesson in the English curriculum.
I’ve thought for years and talk about it regularly that there isn’t anything more worth while someone could be taught than to save a life, or to be able to communicate with someone who has lost their hearing or when they them selves do.
Surely learning “hello” and “thank you” in French or German isn’t anywhere near as important as being able to communicate if/when you lose you hearing. Surly that would save the NHS money somewhere down the line too.
