Compel businesses to provide feedback to unemployed job applicants
Businesses should be compelled to provide constructive, accurate feedback to currently-unemployed job applicants, on receipt of a full, complete application.
Until now, businesses have never had to acknowledge receipt of applications, nor to provide reasons why an application is not allowed to progress to interview. As a result, many unemployed applicants become demoralised and disillusioned; whereas, with useful feedback, applicants can adjust and improve their applications and the way in which they present themselves as potential employees.
Thus, businesses will receive better-constructed, more relevant applications, from motivated, better-presented applicants, making the process of hiring staff easier.
The Government should take immediate action to ensure businesses respond, with feedback, to all complete applications received.
