STOP community pharmacy dispensing medication at a loss!
The cost price of drugs are increasing day on day - without the NHS increasing remuneration. How many businesses are there that provide product less than cost? Pharmacy do, to ensure patients get the medication and care they require.
Dispensing at a loss could lead to many pharmacy closures and in turn a reduction in service available from community pharmacy in many areas. Currently some pharmacies are already struggling to even pay their supplier invoices as the NHS remuneration is less than this value. Currently prices are set retrospectively and not reflective of prices paid by pharmacy.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand that you would like to ensure community pharmacies aren't dispensing medicines at a lose but we aren't sure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition calling on the Government to increase the fees and allowances for community pharmacies if that is something you would like to see happen.
