Change the the ehos of government from looking at winning the next election to looking to a more medium/long term approach.

Additional Information

Obviouslly governments are obssessed with winning the next election but that limits the UKs success. The UK needs to have a rolling plan of a successful UK in a number of years time. Remember, building a large infrastructure project may take 20 years. So it has to be planned now for completion in 2032 with no delays. Instead the UK often takes short term snap decisions which may cost it later.
