Stop student loans and grants from being counted as income under uc
Under the new universal credit system student loans, bursaries and grants are classed as income. This means that's student especially ones with children or on healthcare related degrees eg student nurses, midwives etc will be financially worse off.
Under the tax credits any student or non taxable income such as student loans, bursaries and grants are not counted as income. Under the new universal credit system any student income from bursaries, loans or grants are counted. This will leave student especially who have children in dire financial hardships especially student who are studying a healthcare related degree whereby they don't have the time to earn alongside placement and theory in university.
