Petition Action

Cut £14.1 Billion foreign aid bill by 50%, use 50% of money to support UK needs.

Petition Details

£14.1 BILLION pounds was paid in foreign aid in 2018. This comes out of our taxes and is often squandered by corrupt countries & fraud and is not reaching the people who actually need it. We need billions here to improve the NHS, Education, More police to cut rising crime, to help the elderly etc.

Additional Information

We should pay foreign aid only as and when it is needed to disasters and needy were we can make sure it will reach the people that it is supposed to be helping, the most in need. The current system is not working as described by Mathew Rycroft permanent secretary for the Department for International Development (DfID).
"Either they believe that “the problems are too big” to fix or that “the whole thing is corrupt and money never ends up where it should.” Both valid points, he states.
