Petition Action

Introduce the use of E10 fuel, to help reduce motor vehicle emissions.

Petition Details

The climate is an ever changing place. Fuel emissions is one of the contributing factors, causing environmental change. This impact could however be minimised with the use of E10 fuel. This is a bioethanol blend of 10% ethanol and 90% oil, overall E10 could help reduce car emissions by 10%.

Additional Information

Only 7% of cars nation wide would be unable to use this fuel blend. Still even if 50% of motor veichles used this blend it would have a significant impact of emission output.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because this would be the responsibility of car manufacturers and fuel suppliers and not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could start a new petition calling on the UK Government to encourage these companies to use E10, for example through taxation changes, if that is something you would like to see happen.
