Petition Action

Crime awareness and social safety should be part of the National Curriculum.

Petition Details

It is evident that we need Early Prevention and for it to start in schools and teach young children consequences e.g. - of carrying a knife and the detrimental effect it can have. New figures from the NHS (National Health Service) show more than 500 children were victims of knife crime in 2018.

Additional Information

Children aged between 5-16 should be taught about the risks and consequences joining a gang will have.
In the last four years the number of young victims has increased by 86 per cent. Police have revealed that 67 under 18's have been suspected of firearms offences, while more than 1,000 have been caught with knives and other weapons over the four years. There were 40,147 offences in the 12 months ending in March 2018, a 16% increase on the previous year and the highest number since 2011.
