Make the Prime Minister answer PMQ's with actual answers to the question asked.

Petition Details

During Prime Minister's Questions, the Prime Minister frequently deflects simple questions by twisting them to try and make the opposition look bad, without actually answering the question asked. Instead of this, answers should be mandatory, and not answering should be contempt of parliament.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because it's about something the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.

How the Prime Minister chooses to answer a question at Prime Minister's Questions is a personal decision for her, not for the UK Government or Parliament as a whole.

You could start a new petition asking the UK Government to change the Ministerial Code to include a requirement to answer questions in the House of Commons in a particular way if that is something you would like to see happen.
