The Home Secretary to facilitate British Citizen Shamima Begum's entry to the UK
Shamima Begum, one of three pupils from Bethnal Green who ran away to join ISIS, has been found in a refugee camp in Syria. She now has a baby and wishes to return to the UK. Human rights principles and British law supports the right of this British citizen to return to her country of birth.
She will be subject to investigation into her past actions. Legal processes, with serious consequences, may follow. However, any action should strive for her rehabilitation. She will probably need help, support and counselling to come to terms with what has happened in her life and support both mother and her baby towards a different path in the future.
In addition her recently born child has human rights too. The right to family life, education and all other full rights as a British Citizen.
