No MP can switch Party or become independent without an immediate by-election
MP’s cannot dismiss electoral process and switch allegiance. The Electorate is King, only they can decide if they want that person to continue as a MP for another party or as an Indeoenent.
These decisions are making a mockery of democracy, immediate by elections should be sort by Law..
This goes way back to the SDP formation, the UKIP deserters and now the independent seven.
This has to stop, the electorate is king, most vote on an ideology not on how the wind blows, these are beliefs held in many cases for decades.
They are let down badly and disengaged with the political process when MP’s they elect and trust with sincerity decide the ‘X’ placed on the ballot paper besides the persons name and the ‘political party’ was nothing but a shot in the dark and a gamble.
