MPs who leave or are expelled from their party should face automatic by election
A law should be passed establishing that any MP who, after election, either resigns from the party under whose banner they were elected, resigns the parties parliamentary whip, is deselected by their constituency association, or is expelled from that party, face a by election within 30 days.
The people elect the vast majority of their MPs on the basis of their party membership and party policies. They are entitled, if their MP changes their political allegiance, to pass judgement on that decision at the ballot box.
