Pay child maintenance into child's bank account and audit expenditure by parent
Give the CMS the authority to audit how the receiving parent spends the maintenance contributions received from the paying parent. All too often, the maintenance contributions are spent inappropriately and in a manner which does not benefit or support the children.
Child maintenance should be paid into a named account for each child involved in the case to create a clear audit trail to identify how these contributions are spent. The parent with care will be required to provide receipts as proof of purchase plus bank statements to the paying parent and CMS for review.
The intent, is that the children will benefit directly from this transparency and the paying parent will be given some reassurance that they are helping to contribute to their children.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government or Parliament isn't responsible for auditing individual's expenditure.
You could start a new petition calling for guidelines about how maintenance payments could be spent if that is something you would like to see happen.
