Debate automatic by elections for MPs who leave their parties.
The decision of 8 Labour (and counting?) and 3 Tory MPs to leave their parties and form a so called independent group is deeply undemocratic and immediate by elections should be held.
At the time of writing 8 Labour and 3 Tories have left their parties to form a so called independent group in parliament. Given the fact they were elected on the basis of their respective parties' manifestos, and in the case of the Labour MPs in particular the hard work of and consequent popularity of their leader, Jeremy Corbyn, this move is deeply undemocratic. I strongly believe they should resign immediately and test the credibility of their new independent group.
