Use of e-cigarettes, or vaping, should be permitted in public indoor areas!
Vaping for current smokers is now advocated as valid smoking cessation strategy by Public Health England. Present indoor smoking ban does not distinguish between vapers and smokers. Moreover, majority of the workplaces and NHS establishments do not cater for e-cigarette users all together.
Public Health England Evidence review of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products (2018) concluded that vaping is 95% less harmful than smoking. The risk to bystanders is thought to be negligible.
The cancer risk associated with vaping is quoted as less than 0.5% of the risk associated with smoking. E-cigarette use is associated with improved quit success rates and accelerated decline in smoking rates in the UK. #helptoquit, #vapenotsmoke, #ecigarettepetition.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
The laws prohibiting smoking in enclosed public places and workplaces do not cover vaping, organisations are already free to make their own policies on the use of e-cigarettes on their premises. Therefore we aren't sure what further action you'd like the Government and Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
