MPs who change their election status must stand in a by-election to remain an MP
Recently MPs elected to Parliament for particular parties following a party manifesto resigned to become independent MPs. This could easily be an MP changing from Tory to Labour or BNP, against the political views of his/her constituents. Constituents should be consulted on this in a By-election
