Protect the UK against starvation by ensuring the UK grows all the food it needs
40% of UK food is imported.
Soil loss, pollinating insect population collapse, global warming, over fishing and extreme weather are affecting global food yields.
Countries ban food exports in an emergency, putting the UK in imminent danger of food shortages and mass starvation.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We understand you are concerned about the UK's ability to supply itself with food, but we are unsure what action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.
You could start a new petition calling on the government to set a target to reduce the amount of food imported, or to adopt specific measures to reduce this, if that is something you would like to see happen.
