Petition Action

Stop British Telecom's (BT) Monopoly in UK

Additional Information

British Telecom has been using loopholes in previous Telecommunications Act 1984 and its subsequent revisions which required for a present competition to be present in UK and started "BT Retail Division" which is just a front for BT Group and as such, they are now the ONLY company that provides Fixed Line Telephony and DSL broadband internet access.
Through BT Openreach, (another BT Group company) it services BT Retail's so called competitors such as Talk Talk, Sky and etc. which in reality are nothing but resellers for BT Group.
I would like the Parliament to open a debate and force BT to sell part of its infrastructure to genuine competing companies who will more than certainly offer the public a choice as well as competitive prices
and a far better service (as it is evident by BT's lack of care towards its subscribers.
