Petition Details

After watching the media try and unjustifiably disgrace Tommy Robinson for speaking up for the people he has been the target of a hostile programme from the BBC. He has, as we've all seen, had his character tarnished by the corrupt reporting and allegations that have been fabricated against him.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The BBC is already required to deliver impartial news by the "Royal Charter for the continuance of the British Broadcasting Corporation" and the "Agreement Between Her Majesty’s Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and the British Broadcasting Corporation". We don't know what further action you would like the UK Government or Parliament to take.

You might like to sign and share this petition instead:

In any case, we can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. If you would like to submit a complaint about a BBC program, you can do so using the link below:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/

There are also rules about news and impartiality for other broadcasters. You can find out more here:

www.ofcom.org.uk/tv-radio-and-on-demand/broadcast-codes/broadcast-code/section-five-due-impartiality-accuracy

You could start a new petition about something the UK Parliament and Government are responsible for. For example, you could start a new petition asking for a specific change in how broadcasters are regulated, if that's what you'd like to happen.
