Block the BBC from being able to charge UK license payers to access its services
The BBC are planning to launch a service in the UK called Britbox, in collaboration with ITV, and plans to charge a monthly fee to access this service.
The BBC is already receives the license fee (a tax in disguise) and should not be allowed to charge a fee to access any of its content in the UK.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
This decision is the responsibility of the BBC. The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
You could start a new petition asking the Government to amend the Charter to prevent the BBC from charging for any of its services except through the licence fee if that is something you would like to see happen.
