Increase the minimum recommended width of parking spaces from 2.4 metres to 2.7.
The minimum recommended width of parking spaces was 2.4 metres in 1978 and perhaps even earlier when family cars were much narrower and vehicles such as suv's didn't exist. Insurance companies say over 30% of minor claims arise from car park damage. It is time to revise the standards.
