It is offence to discriminate / abuse serving and veterans of the armed forces.
The recent case of an army veteran being abused by a member of staff of an opticians, when he asked for his entitlement of being given priority on the NHS waiting list.

You could start a new petition setting out clearly the change you would like to see. For example, you could start a new petition to make it a specific criminal offence to abuse someone because they are a member of the armed forces if that is something you would like to see happen.
