Petition Details

The tiny attendance by MPs to the debate on 28 February 2019 on climate change, the first for two years, shows the indifference of the Government and Commons to this existential threat. The lack of press comment on this woeful shortcoming highlights the general indifference to the dangers facing us.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because whether or not an individual MP attends a debate is their responsibility and not that of the UK Government or Parliament as a whole.

You could start a new petition calling on the Government to adopt specific policies to address climate change if that is something you would like the see happen.
