Personal Tax Bills to show % contribution to Public Sector pensions
Performance of the Public Sector workforce underpins the efficiency and success of the UK. Public Sector funding (pay and pensions) is the greatest financial burden being carried by existing and future generations. It is timely and sensible to be more transparent with these costs.
Public Finance magazine, MP’s and Local Authorities continue to voice their concerns over these costs. Some say they are overbearing, some say 30%+ of homeowners’ Council Tax goes to fund the Local Authority Pension Scheme. Unions say they will fight to protect members’ benefits. A House of Commons Report says Private Sector pay is about 80% approx of Public Sector pay. Personal tax bills should set out the individual taxpayer’s commitment to Public Sector pay.
