Prevent the enforced replacement of existing windows with less efficient units.
The Department of Arts Heritage and Culture enforces the installation of single-glazed windows in heritage properties, in some cases insisting on the removal of existing modern, energy-efficient double-glazed units.
This reduces the insulation, acoustic amelioration and security of affected properties, compromising the quality of life and human rights of residents and running counter to prevailing national and global environmental priorities.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because decisions about Listed Buildings Consent for alterations (and enforcement in cases where this has not been received in advance) is the responsibility of local planning authorities, in consultation with Historic England, not the UK Parliament or Government.
