Rebuild the section of railway between Brockenhurst and Ringwood
Public Transport across the New Forest in notoriously poor, and requires travelling via Salisbury or Bournemouth to travel between east and west.
Rebuilding the Brockenhurst - Ringwood railway could improve this and allow connections at Brockenhurst, or direct services to Southampton and beyond.
The Case for Expanding the National Railway Network (CFBT) has drawn up a list of priority 2 schemes which includes the Brockenhurst - Ringwood section of railway that used to form part of the Southampton and Dorchester Railway before the Beeching cuts closed the line.
The Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) estimated an investment of £70m for the line and an hourly service in 2009.
