Fines for missed NHS appointments
Have a dentistry style fine system for missed NHS appointments (clinics, investigations, operations etc) without prior information.
e.g. >30min late for appointment = immediate cancellation (currently patients still expect to be seen even after being this late - my plumber, lawyer or Amazon Delivery company would not!) and £50 fine.
Missed appointments are an enormous drain on the NHS and a constant source of frustration for staff.
It takes 30s to make a phone call to cancel an appointment.
