Create an 'opt-out' transplant list for potential organ donors
We the undersigned petition the government to change the law to allow for an opt-out organ transplant list, replacing the current 'opt-in' system.
Every day, 3 people in the UK die waiting for a transplant. They die because far more people are willing to accept a transplant than to donate themselves, and to make the choice to join the Organ Donation Register.
Under an opt-out system, those who have an objection to donating will be able to say as such- allowing those who don't mind, but haven't got round to joining the organ donation register, to donate their organs.
Needless deaths can be so easily prevented.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
