Proceed with the progression of the Modern Slavery Bill 2017-19
Migrant workers are exploited through the relationship between their visas and employers. Under the tied UK working visa, seeking employment elsewhere is illegal. Evil employers abuse this system, creating environments without pay, threats and bribery, physical abuse and facing deportation.
The Modern Slavery Bill is geared toward the prosecution of exploitation and not so much the prevention and/or protection of migrant workers within the UK. The progression of the Bill within the House of Commons would not only raise the grave nature of the situation but also reduce the time taken to consider and potentially implement changes.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because we aren't sure which Bill you would like to progress.
There are two Modern Slavery Bills going through Parliament, both of which would make amendments to the main legislation, the Modern Slavery Act 2015. They are the Modern Slavery (Transparency in Supply Chains) Bill and the Modern Slavery (Victim Support) Bill.
You could start a new petition setting out which Bill you would like to progress.
