Petition Action

Establish a medal to commemorate those who have been taken Prisoner of War.

Petition Details

My Great Grandfather served in the Gordon Highlanders regiment during World War Two and was taken as a Prisoner of War by the German for around 3 years.

But this is not unique, many British and Commonwealth were taken as Prisoners of War and treated in horrid conditions.

Additional Information

The British and Commonwealth veterans of WW2, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and many wars before and after who was taken Prisoner of War need to be commemorated with a medal.

They served their life, were treated horribly, and they deserve recognition.
