When a petition reaches a million signatures it is not debated it is acted upon.
Petitions with real weight and vast amounts of support but the majority of them get debated but not acted upon. Parliament works for us the people. Just as we vote our governments in and out. We should be able to call them to account at any time we chose. Too many petitions are ignored.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what action you would like the Government or Parliament to take. For instance, you could suggest that a vote on the petition takes place in the House of Commons if a petition receives over a million signatures.
