Raise Inheritance Tax Threshold for unwed couples who live together

Petition Details

only civil partners/married people benefit from a much raised Inheritance tax threshold than anyone else.It has been £325k since 2009 and today house prices are £300plus. Many are losing their homes in order to pay up.It is not fair that people in this category suffer worry and anxiety of losing

Additional Information

their home. The Inheritance Tax threshold should be exactly the same for everyone whether married or single and siblings should also be considered for a raised threshold of more than £325k. Everyone works and pays their taxes. It is 10 years or more since this was updated while the cost of living, and house prices have risen very quickly and over- taken £325k. I want the Government to raise this in line with todays costs of living and house prices to at least £500k.
