to stop birds in captivity being treated poorly/ being chained up
Birds have been treated badly in captivity such as being chained up or being constantly kept in small cages that don't allow them to fly. Birds are free creatures and shouldn't be chained up. Life in captivity is often a death sentence for birds, who may suffer loneliness or malnutrition

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
The Animal Welfare Act is intended to protect animals from being kept in inappropriate environments and from suffering harm. We understand you are concerned about the treatment of birds in captivity, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the UK Government of Parliament to do.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
