Petition Action

Make Certification on fish packaging to certify if it comes from Forced Labour.

Petition Details

Slavery still exists around the world and even in the UK. Many vulnerable people are exploited and are made to work rough hours. This includes nail bars, construction, car washing, packaging fish and many more. Just like Fair trade, there should be certification on food we buy in store.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure whether you'd like this certification only to apply to the sale of fish, or whether you'd also like it to apply to the other sectors and industries that you list in your petition.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
